MONUMENTAL. PUBLICATION DAY. APRIL 2ND 2026.

MONUMENTAL. Publication day for my 13th horror novel. Also marking ten years, to the month, of Ritual Limited. I started prepping Some Will Not Sleep in April 2016.
Paperback and eBook are now crawling across the earth. The audiobook will take flight imminently.
This book took an awful lot of publishing, as life took over for many of the freelancers I commissioned to create the various editions, and even a printer fell into difficulty. At various times, I suspected that the actual book was cursed. Or, it was simply swept up in this correctional universal phase of everything falling apart, all of the time, at the same time.
And yet, it's the ascent to the goal that exceeds the summiting. Tea and biscuits at the finish line are momentary. It's the doing that matters.
Massive respect to the team who built this creature. Honest human labour from start to finish. And thanks to each and every reader who decides to enter the Wyrm Valley.
"A story of life and death in the wilderness, and a horrifying tale of extreme survival against supernatural powers."
Cover artwork by my long time collaborator @samarayaart really distils the spirit of this story. I think it's my favourite part of the entire publishing process, seeing what Sam comes up with.

  • Thank you, Michael. That is truly great to hear. Crom! And, yes, the story is infused with a Howard influence – just about my favourite writer as a kid and I reread the Conan stories in 2023. I wanted to recreate the sense of unearthly mystery and adventure that I enjoyed so much as a young reader. Took a similar approach with The Ritual.

  • Hello, Adam. I pretty much inhaled “Monumental” in the last 24 hours. Great, great story! I got little sniff of Robert E. Howard’s “Worms of the Earth” in your story. Did that inform your tale at all? Really good stuff, man!
